Saying HI!!!
I don't post here very much anymore so wanted to say hi. For those who don't know me, I had surgery in Feb. 08 (RNY), lost 110 lbs, gained 10 and have recently lost 20 and holding steady. I would love to lost another 50 lbs and then get alot of plastic surgery done LOL.
It took me over two years to finally notice a change in how I related to food. I used to be a binge eater so quantity was my thang. After surgery, I kept trying to go back to my old ways, was sick alot of the time because of it and did develop hypoglycemia from eating too much sugar. I even started drinking on a regular basis. Through all that, I did lose alot of weight. I am not thin now but I am not morbidly obese anymore.
One of the major things I have noticed since surgery is how much energy I have. I used to oversleep and now I tend to undersleep. I actually have a social life now whereas before I used to just sit in front of the tv and eat. My life is so full now and there are so many opportunities. I can officially say I am no longer a binge eater nor am I depressed. I spent ten years chronically depressed.
This surgery truly saved my life and I am so happy that I have this tool to help me achieve the rest of my goals. Things happen for a reason and the fact that I did not lose all the weight initially might have ended up helping me make better choices in the long term to achieve my goals. I was sidelined for a couple months with back issues but I am finally feeling better so I am going to focus on getting back into the gym, eating mostly home made foods and just going out and enjoying life.
How has surgery transformed your life? What has been the most unexpected for you? One that tickles me is that I used to be a 9.5W shoe. Now I am a 8M. SO AWESOME!
Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather.
