Just Moved Here from NJ - Have realize Band... HELP

got a letter from my doc in northern NJ that my clot filter they put in my groin area pre surgery needs to comeout.  I am also well behind in getting a fill. My doc in NJ will not recommend docs out of state.

I live in havre de Grace (Harford County).

I love these forums and really need some guidance. Who else has Realize?  Will I have to go to Baltimore?
Anyone else get the filter removed?

thanks

Welcome to MD. I am sure you will find a great doc to help you out.

I would recommend that you post on the lap band forum maybe you will get more information there.

Take care,

Cira

Hey there :) I'm in HarCo, too, and while I didn't have my surgery here, I know Harford Memorial has a bariatric surgery program and that they do banding and RNY. The doc that I know of there is Stephen McKenna. www.uchs.org is the main website. So that would be close for you. Hope this helps :)

Hey KB!! How ya doin?? Long time no see...Finally made it to MD?

I have a list of docs that I'll share, but they are mostly from the boards here...its just in an easier format to look at (IMHO) Let me dig it out and I'll post it for you.

Glad to see you around

The list was started as MD/DC/VA cause the area I live in...Same distance for me to go to VA,  or Baltimore. Good luck finding someone. I personally went with Dr. Averbach. I really like him. Oh, and the list of insurance is just the insurances that have been used with that Dr, not the only insurance they take same goes for Surgery type.

Good Luck!

Dr Averbach does not charge a program fee.

Hi Cathy!

I think the expenses for Dr. A were just the out of pocket expenses for the Psych, Nut, Hospital fee, etc.

I want to say I probablly paid a little under that for all of those. WELL WORTH IT.

Nice to see you here...Never put 2+2 together until today...
