Q. Blood Work Done?
I had my 3 month blood work done at Quest in Randallstown MD. The verdict is out whether I like this facility? However, it is convenient and you can make appointments and get test results online. But they seem a bit sloppy and they missed one of the test so I have to go back again to get my blood drawn for B1.
I have BCBS(state of MD). Can anyone recommend a facility to get blood work done? It could be either Quest or Labcorp, but a facilty that is used to getting Bariatric patients.

Thanks Ladybugnessa.
I was on the fence with this location but my first impression was right on. They are a bit sloppy at that location. Maybe it's just me... but I do not like the idea of looking at other patients test tubes of blood. Other patient samples were stored in plain sight on a test tube rack rather than in a secure location away from other patients. This could be unsettling to some patients.
On my next set of test, I'll try the Owings Mills location.

Some PCP offices that have lab facilities can draw your blood then send it out to Quest or Labcorp. I know APA in Millersville does this. The only thing the office charges for is the venipuncture/administration fee.
I, personally, go to a Quest lab in Glen Burnie associated with my Hematologist. I know the guy who works there well and I know he's extremely thorough. When he drew my labs for my 3 month checkup, he looked up every lab to make sure there weren't any restrictions on them. He told me that Zinc and Copper have restrictions and to check with my doctor to see if I still should have them drawn. Of course, my doctor said yes go ahead and draw them....we as bariatric patients cannot stop taking our suppliments ever. All in all, I had 17 vials of blood taken in a 24 hour time period.
