Hello!

I was wondering for those of you who used Johns Hopkins how did you fulfill the 6 month diet requirement? Does Hopkins have a program and if so what was the cost? Do they have a program they recommend?

Thanks in Advance!

They have their own program but I am not sure what the cost is. They will accept any program that you have been on.  If you have been like me you have been on every diet plan under the sun...weigh****chers (get a copy of your card), receipts from other programs that you did. If you didn't then you may need to check into the hopkins program. I don't think it was too expensive.

I believe it's not a Hopkins requirement but an insurance approval requirement - I cold be wrong though.  I did it by visiting my PCP once a month for 6 straight months and talking to him only about my weight loss efforts during that visit.  He then sent his notes for the 6 months including vitals and weigh ins and that was enough to satisfy my insurance company/Hopkins.  It's a pain in the butt (especially for those of us who "want it yesterday") but in retrospect it created a window of time for me to make sure I was ready to take this step.  Best of luck on your journey!

You're right Russell, it is an insurance requirement, not a Hopkins requirement.

Hopkins offers the 6 month diet at 35.00 per session.
