XP:1 year surgiversary with pics
Wednesday will be my 1 year surgiversary, but I'm working a double and won't be able to post, so I'm celebrating a couple days early. :)
I've been extremely blessed. I have surpassed my goal weight, have had zero complications, and feel like a new person. For the first time in my life, I am actually living! I don't avoid social events, I've ridden roller coasters for the first time since I was a teenager, and, most importantly, I no longer fear that I am going to die before I reach 40.
I didn't think the surgery would change me, but in reality, it has. I'm much more confident and willing to speak my mind. I don't try to blend into the woodwork. I no longer give off the "don't-look-at-me" vibe that I did before to keep people at a distance. It has been absolutely liberating.
Thanks everyone for the support, advice, and camaraderie. You all were right...it has been one hell of a ride!
