I had the sleeve with Dr. LoMenzo. He's a great doctor. It may take Noel and the team a while to get back with saying everything has been approved, but just be patient. Before you know it, you'll have a surgery date, and on the pre-op liquid diet. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me!!!

The only regret I have is that I didn't to it sooner!!!!

Hi Amanda-

I had my RNY done by Dr Kligman at UMMC. Once they send your file over, it takes almost no time before they set the date. I was suprised by the short turnaround. Initially, they told their office will notify me, but I first  got my date from the nurse case manager from Care First BCBS.

Good Luck that time will be here in no time.

Marian

Hi there,

Dr. Kligman did my RNY, however...when I had a leak at day 10 post op, it was Dr. LoMenzo who came to see me in the ER.  He was very concerned and very sweet.  About 3 weeks ago, I had yet another complication and ended up having an endoscopy 2 weeks ago.  Dr. LoMenzo did that as well.  He was very comforting.  I wasn't too impressed with the nurses though...first forgetting to put in my IV, then putting an IV in a spot that I told them never holds out...sure enough it gave out....so much that I woke up in the middle of the procedure because the anesthesia was not getting into my vein since it blew out.  They should have tried another spot for my IV but the seemed in so much of hurry (even though I was the last patient)  So I was not so impressed with the nurses in the Endo unit.

They didn't end up finding anything, but he also said it may have resolved itself.  Was possibly an aggravated stitch in the pouch.

You will be in good hands...and the nurses on 5 Weinburg are excellent..especially Colleen.  Only one was a little rough, left a lot of bruises on me...I'm still healing from phlebitis in the vein she put an IV in.

Some have asked me after all the complications do I regret what I did.....I say...absolutely NOT!!  I will never ever regret it.

You will be in good hands with Dr. LoMenzo and Noel.
