hey gang;
My date is approaching very fast.  Only 24 days till the big day and 10 days till the pre op diet.  It was recomended that I do the plan B if one small meal a day. I think I can handle it better than plan A.

You would think of all the research I have done I would not have many or any questions but they seem to be swimming  in my head.

Do they give you any thing for nausea to keep you from throwing up if you get sick from anestesia?

Is it true that once the stomach is seperated that diabetes disapears?

Will thowing up cause damage from the surgery?

I was given nausea medicine thru my IV when I got sick my 2nd night:

Now as far as the diabetes:  I was told Once a Diabetic:  always a diabetic.
I have not taken meds since the day before my surgury and 3 years later every
A1C test has been within the ' UNDER CONTROL"  Range:
Now every Dr is different so your Dr may leave you on the meds -  just besure
to follow up with you PCP and keep getting tested every 3 months!

Congrats and I can not wait to welcome you to the losers bench!

Rose, Tell the anestesiologist that you do not want to get sick and to pump you with as much anti nausea medication as they can give I did that and it worked i just told them that I always got sick after surgery and they took care of it I didn't get nauseated not one time.

 I was given a prescription for an anti-nausea medication to take three hours before my surgery. Most people say they were given some in the hospital too if they felt nauseas.
