Is there any Baltimore area off-line support groups? Anyone want to start one?

I would like to get together with some other folks who are a couple years out from surgery and am looking for a "freelance" group - one not tied specifically to a surgeon's office.

No offense to newer folks. I go to my own support group which is mostly newer folks. But the issues you face at 2 years out are a bit different so that's mainly where my interest is, but in any group I'd be a part of nobody would be excluded. It's just that I'd like to be a part of a group that focuses on the issues of long-termers.

Anyone know of one or have interest in starting one?

I'd be interested. I'm almost a year out, so not quite a true veteran yet, but not a newbie either. The St. Agnes meetings never seem to work out for me with my crazy work schedule, so I'd love to have another one to attend.

What's considered a newbie?  Less than a year?  Less than 6 months? 

For the purposes of the group I'd like to belong to, everyone who has plateau'd. So whatever stage, if you have hit goal or been at the same weight for 4+ months, that would be a group I'd be interested in. Like I said, nobody would be excluded but topics would be geared toward those folks.

i am a support group leader and have a group in harford county but have not had meeting for lack of attentance. people want to be involved in a group until they actually have to show up for it. maybe you will have better luck than me LOL. i'd go if you set it up though

2nd tuesday of every month franklin square hospital you can look on their wensite under classes. 

Next Month's Class is Manicures and Makeovers and they will be showing us a new line of body shapers!

My life means I spend to much time in the car to attend regular meetings... Unfortunately it seems like they are all at 6pm and I don't get off until 6:30... Otherwise this would be THE group for me!

I just found a new meetup group. The group is for the DC metro area. I hope more people join so she keeps it going.
