Hey gang looks like surgery will be the end of August.
I am finding that a lo of questions are poping into my head.  Is this normal? lol  I am curious about wls patients that take metforman for diabetes.  The pills are extended release and the size of 800 mg ibuprofin.  How do those freshly out of surgery manage this type of issue?  Also how often do they monitor blood sugar levels.

They make a metformin that is not extended release.  Talk to your doctor about it.  i took mine for three months after surgery, but am off it now.  I took my blood sugar four times a day until I was about two months out.  Now I test twice a week.

Metformin comes in a liquid as well...  I was off all diabetes medications except PRN insulin when I came home from the hospital...

When I woke up from surgery the first thing they told me was I didnt have to take metforman anymore. Hope it goes that way for you too.
