Freakin out a little...just lost my PCP

I have had the same pcp for years. Well, its really the PA. Ive been seeing her for so long. The first time in my life I actually went back for follow ups. They are SO nice there. Its a Woman's health center, so they take care of all my doctor needs. Ive been with them since before my band and they are even supporting my revision.

I just got a letter that said they are closing Aug 26. I havent been approved yet, but I'll need all the usual pre op exam still...blood, chest xray, ekg and pcp physical and approval.

I dont know yet, if I will be able to see my office, or if I'll have to find a new pcp when I get my date. I have someone I can go to, but I dont know if they will support me having surgery.

OAHHgGhehhhghhgghh! Ok, I AM freaking out.

I am in Calvert and could recommend a few.  What are of Southern MD are you located in?

The office I was going to is Civista Womens Health Center. Just so sad they are closing!

I can see Dr. Moody at Calvert Internal Med. (Im in St Leonard). I know she is not taking new people, but I had her on my old insurance, so I may still be in the system.

I'd love to know of anyone that would support me.

Now I need a gyn too. Last time I looked for one in Calvert there was a LONG waiting list to get in. I could use some help there too.

Dr. Jani is in Prince Frederick.  She has had the surgery herself.  I have a few friends that go to her and love the office.

what is going to happen to the lady you usually see? maybe she is going someplace else and you can follow her there?

Is the whole thing closing up? Thats where my nut was when I was doing my 6 month diet just before my lapband. Yeah I know laugh ladies but thats where my PCP sent me. LOL

The letter I got on Saturday said that Dr. Hampton was leaving and taking a position in Virginia. Gladys (The PA I usually see) cant see patients without the Dr.

The letter said they would help us find other doctors, but I figure no reason to go to Waldorf if I can go closer to the house. Sorry, I didnt see anything about the other areas of the center. I think I just went blind when I saw that they were leaving.

Just go to a doc-in-the-box for pre-op testing.
