Hello my fellow Marylanders :)

My name is Allie, I'm 24 in Harford County. I had RNY on monday at St. Agnes with Dr. Singh, and I came home yesterday. I frequent the 20's board and the Main RNY board, but I thought it'd be nice to meet some people closer to home, and get all the extra support I can find. Anyone else in HarCo?

Welcome and congratulations on the beginging of your journey.  Now the real fun begins.  Remeber sip, walk, rest and repeat - theat'll get you through the early weeks.  I hope you have a quick recovery and end up loving your RNY as much as I love mine

Thanks Russel, it's nice to meet you :) Knock on wood I'm not having trouble getting my water in, I'm just trying to be really really diligent about my protein. How long did it take for the swelling around your incisions to go down? I'm also wondering: how long did it take for you to be able to get up and down from a chair without needing mental preparation beforehand? I feel like my internal stitches are pulling like crazy, esp. on the bottom left hand side. 

I don't remember too much swelling around my incisions.  I was pretty lucky in terms of pain, although I do remember having to "brace" myself getting in and out of chairs - for no longer than two weeks though.  Keep it up the first two weeks are the toughest!
