OMG! How long does it take to send the stuff to insurance..vent
Ok...Im just venting here...Im still happy with my choice of surgeon...
Ive done my seminar, broke my back running up and down from southern MD to Catonsville to get my psych and meet with the nut. I met with my PCP and got her approval and got my gallbladder ultrasound...all last week (and in the middle of finals!)...just so I could get this crap submitted to insurance ASAP.
I call the office to make sure everything is ok and Ive done everything. They need more info from the nut (I really love the nut too, she is really easy to talk to and seems we hit it off well, nothing bad to say about her).
Well, come to find out I have to go to the pre-op 3 hour class and another one on one session BEFORE submitting to insurance. Why take the three hour class...what if insurance says no? then I took the class for nothing? The soonest I'll be able to get the stuff submitted is mid/end july.
Ok...I know more people have it worse off and I dont need to have the 6 month diet, but DAMN!

Hey Nicole!
Yep...I was trying to get in for surgery on my break. Oh well, I'll figure something out.
next semester, one of my classes is online, one is a sit-down lecture class and I only have one actual hands-on cooking class so hopefully the chef will be able to work something out with me to miss a class or two.
Guess I'll be napping in the car during my lunch break at work~

I'm completely with you ... I almost blew a gasket when I found out that I had to go to a 3 hour class. I made Nancy find me a slot last Sat. Fortunately the class was pretty good. I did not know that Dr. A's folks make you do TWO one-on-ones before my documents are submitted. I have the following appts scheduled by end of month:
- GB Ultrasound
- StressEKG
- Sleep study
- Psych eval
- NUT session 1
- PCP meeting and op prep
I'm running around like crazy getting all this done!

I'm running around like crazy getting all this done! For my band I had an all day class...I think they are common, but I would think that would be after approval..IDK.
Yeah...the paper they gave us only says (mine says) Nut approval, GB ultrasound and Psych before insurance. I didnt realize it was 3 appts with the nut BEFORE. Oh well, no use complaining. I do like Nancy though :)
The only reason I didnt have to do the sleep study was because I had one a year ago for the band.
cant wait to hit the list of things to do after approval!!
Too bad you made it to the class already...we could have been study mates! LOL I'll be there for the 3 hour on the 6th, then my second one on one is the 13th....Then off to insurance!!
Ohh, edited to add...
I have the paper right here...it says "Once you have your surgery date, you will need too..." Attend the pro op class.
