Decided on a surgeon and moving forward with my revision!

After meeting with both Drs Klingman and Averbach...Ive decided to go with Dr Averbach. While both doctors are skilled and have done revisions, I had a better connection with Dr Averbach (thanks Crash...yep, had that 'gut' feeling) and I'll be working with him. Something about him reminds me of my dad who passed away a couple years ago so how can I ignore that?!

I had my psych eval and tomorrow I have my first meeting with the nut. Yesterday I also met with my pcp who is supporting me (YAY). I have orders for my GB ultrasound.

Just waiting for my insurance approval but everyone tells me I have the best insurance so we'll see....

Just curious, when you talk about "revision" do you mean going from LapBand to RNY?

Yes, I will be revisioning from the band to RNY.

When I had my band done, I was self pay (yeah, I'll still be paying for that for almost 4 more years!) Now I have a new job with new insurance. Still waiting for approval (hopefully will be submitted today or tomorrow) and I'll be holding my breath until then!

Good Luck Mary , I to had my Realize band removed on January 4th, 2010 because it failed and the port rejected out of my body ( Pics on Profile ). It worked great the first 6 months and I had one spot that would not heal. Unfortunately when he remove it we also had the ok to revise it to the sleeve but there was to much scar tissue to do it so we applied in April for the sleeve again and I was approved the same day because they already had all my records of the failure.
