Wow Tom! don't know that you can pick one or the other they are all important. No matter what you daughters will always be there with you, they are your children too. Your health is crucial to keeping you with children for life.

Good luck hon! We're here if you need us.

if you are not happy and healthy then you are useless to the girls.

i agree with nessa and i highly doubt they would want you to choose them over being happy and healthy. doesn't make much sense.

I agree with Nessa as well.  Children are so much more adaptable and resilient than we often give them credit for.

And like the stewardess always says in the safety orientation, you have to put the oxygen mask on yourself first, then your children. Because if you pass out (ie: get sick or die) then your children may have the same fate.

I stayed in a bad marriage 'for my daughter's sake'... but I was wrong.  I was miserable, stressed and therefore suffered migraines and stomach issues and so I wasn't always the best or the funnest mom.  Now my daughter is an adult and she's told me she often thought we should've seperated/divorced sooner as she knew we were unhappy and arguing all the time. So she wasn't surprised at all when at 10 we did.  Yes, she cried... yes she wished we could be one big happy family, but that was a fantasy, not reality.

My love and light surround you and your daughters, Tom! Be the best healthiest, happiest person you can be - so you'll be the best Dad you can be!

Mitzi that's what I always tell folks  the Oxygen mask goes on the PARENT FIRST... it's counter intuitive to what we think we should do as parents to take the best care of our kids but it you apply the thought process to life it makes the most sense....

Difficult but true lesson to learn.  It's always amazed me how far love and common sense will get you as a parent.
