First of all .. HELLO! I haven't been on here in forever. I've been spending too much time playing on Facebook.  I hope everyone is doing well. :)

I've lost 100lbs since December and I have some major bat wings.  How do I get rid of it? Is surgery the only way? and if so.. when do I start looking  into it? Summer is here and I am so ashamed of my arms.. ugh. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hey girl!
It has been super quiet here lately!
I have lost a total of 150ish pounds, and my arms flap when there is a slight breeze! LOL.
I have talked to a PS already, and she said exercise will not tighten the flab......I am still trying tho! I dont know what others may say, I am interested too!
Good luck!

I'm just curious if I should wait until my goal weight... I want it gone NOW though lol.

Hey there!  God I hate my batwings!!  Like you they are so embarassing, I feel like I have two sets of arm, those new ones that I've worked so hard at the gym to get then these things that hang off my new arms.    I have been working with a trainer for over a year now at the gym to work on my arms and all I have done is develop nice new muscles but it hasn't done a damn thing to tighten up any of the skin/flab that hangs off it.  I've resigned myself that I will have to have my arms done, but given it's June, I'm going to wait till Summer is over cuz I don't want to lose any time in the sun or water.

I think most will tell you including surgeons that you should wait until at least a year or year and half out till you have surgery done and get to a maintenance stage.

Good luck!

Do your research. Even if you have the surgery, you are still wearing long sleeve shirts to cover the ugly scars.  So make sure you weigh all of the pros and cons.  How bad is it?

Ive lost about 131 pounds and have bat wings..I know that people say that there is no way to get rid of them via exercise, but I have noticed that as my body has 'readjusted' itself with my weight loss that my arma have tightened up some as well as my stomach.

Rather than being 'ashamed' of your arms you might be thankful for the weight you have lost and the life you have re-gained as a result of your WLS.

Hey girly,
I have lost 115 lbs since Nov 09 and i also have the same problem. I even noticed I have loose skin on my thighs and stomach. I do body pump at Golds to try and build as much muscle as I can in my arms. I saw on Discovery Health show that building some muscle can help take up some of the space at least from the skin. I know it wont be all of it but the more I do weight classes I notice it does seem a little better. I hate my arms!! Especially now with summer. You should add me on Facebook. I am on all the time. Shannon Williams in Baltimore or [email protected] or tell me how to find you! Keep up the great work!!! :)
