1 day after surgery

Just had Lapband surgery yesterday.  I am in a lot of pain.  I was not under the impression that the pain would be this bad and this wide spread. I don't want to sound like a sissy here, but I can hardly pick my head up off  the pillow, and hardly have any strength in my arms.  Anyone else have anything like this?

I agree with Nicole, you shouldn't be in that much pain.  Be safe and call your doctor.

Thank you both for your thoughts on my issue.  I am actually feeling a little better this morning.  I also have an appointment with my surgeon this after noon.

Sounds like a lot of remaining gas and anesthesia after-effects to me.  If that's the case, moving around and lifting your arms above your head will get the gas moving for expulsion and asbsorption.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

It's not how fast you go, but that you're moving in the right direction!

Just got back from seeing my doc.  It would appear that you ladies were right on the mark.  Except for a small area of redness around one of the incision sites, everything is as it should be. I gotta say.....I have never had gas pain like this ever before.  And I use to eat lots of stuff one shouldn't eat.  That was just one of the bad things about being a firefighter.....we ate just about everything.  Have a great evening, and thanks for the concern.
