One Year Down - The Rest Is Up to Me (With pics!)

Today is my surgery anniversary.  I feel wonderful and am so glad that I had the RNY.  I began my journey at 315 pounds (my highest weight was 385) and have lost 117 pounds as of today.  I was wearing a 26/28 and today I can wear a 14/16, ride roller coasters, fit in restaurant booths, shop in regular stores and feel good about who I am.  My diabetes is in remission and my last A1C was 5.7 -- normal!  I have not taken any diabetes medications since last May.

While I know that my honeymoon period is coming to an end, I realize that the rest is up to me.  I must maintain a healthy weight and make healthy choices for the rest of my life.  My son, who also had RNY in August 2009 is pictured with me.  He has lost 151 pounds in 9 months and looks awesome.

Thank you to my family and friends and most importantly to my OH friends on this website who have allowed each of us to share this journey as we all  move forward.

CHRISTIE

Loser's visualize the penalties of failure. Winners visualize the rewards of success.
