Another Johns Hopkins Question

Do they have a "program fee" and how much is it? How much did you have to pay out of pocket? I have BC/BS Fed. Still trying to get the courage up to call them (though Im sure they cover WLS, just dont know if they will cover a revision).

I did pull up my panties and call my office for a copy of the discharge summary and bloodwork.

Did your band malfunction or did you have problems with it?  Otherwise, I don't think the insurance will cover more than one WLS unless the band needs to be removed for medical reasons.  Good luck with moving forward.

There was no program fee.  Many insurance companies will cover revisions if you would still meet the qualifications for WLS.

I did not have a program fee.  My coverage was such that I only had a $200 co-pay.

I just finished watching the Info session online. I just have to finish getting everything together.  I have an appt with my current doc june 7. Im sick of this band.

Now I just have to make up my mind if I give him another chance to do this revision or if I move foreward with new doctors.

I was self pay before so if Insurance doesnt cover it, Im SOL. I have no slip according to my dr who disagrees with the UGI findings and I do have a small hiatial hernia.

I am not familiar with your current doctor, but with a revision you want to find one that is an experienced revision doctor.  I know Dr. Schweitzer does a number of revisions I am not sure about the rest of the Bayview staff.  Good luck!
