HELP

What can I do if I have been approve for my surgery and the receptionist is holding on to my chart and will not give me a surgery date.

hi ,i just wanted to let you know i also have dr steele,and ran into kind of the same problem.i was approved on march 13 and didnt get my date until like the 26 of april,and i kept calling and bugging and driving them nuts  .and now my surgery is june the 1 st  .But do you know dr steele is getting ready to go on leave? good luck :)

I heard the same thing.  They say Dr Steele will go on maturnity leave on June 15th.  Erica is really upset because I was approved by my insurance after she said I would be disapproved.  She told me I should pray to my God and thank him because I should not have been approved.  She also questioned me to see if I had a personal relationship with someone at the insurance company because she claim I was approved too fast. 

Um, what?

I would be so reporting that behavior and pronto.  That's NO WAY to talk to a patient.

Is Dr. Steele pregnant again?  She was on maternity leave last summer too!  I would complain to someone because Erica should not have talked to you like that.  I too would contact Christine about it. 

I spoke with Erica today.  she said she would give Dr. Steele my chart.  She also advised me that Dr. Steele is not scheduling any more appointments for 4 months.  I could wait or use another DR.  I decided not to wait.  So I will be assigned to another DR.  Hopefully all will go well.

You may want to contact Christine Walsh, the Bariatric Program Manager and nurse administrator.  She was quite helpful when I was going through all of this nearly 2 years ago!
