hmmm well see thats the thing i dont think me answering how i feel i sleep should say no i dont have sleep apnea, ive heard of many people who say no no no they dont but then find out they really do and BAD!
i asked him to order it for me anyways so i know and can be sure, cause i too would rather be safe then sorry!

I had one before I even saw the surgeon but I had no idea that I had sleep apnea until, within months, both my mother and my husband described episodes of me not breathing for periods of time while sleeping. They put me on a CPAP and within a week after surgery, it was too strong for me and actually kept me awake.
Totally better safe than sorry!

I had one before I visited my surgeon, but I never went back for the results. So he had me go because I had difficulty sleeping. However, my sleeping problems have to do with my insomnia. But I went. It was a waste of time, but I went and paid the $500 that my insurance didn't cover. They haven't called me back nor sent me a letter, so I'm quite positive I didn't have a problem. Hey, at least I know there wasn't a problem though, right?
Dr. McKenna was my surgeon and he does required a sleep study. It's HIS requirement and not the insurance's.

I had one and found out I had sleep apnea pretty bad... and had complications after surgery related to that...
I would not raise a red flag unless you checked that you snore, don't feel rested after sleeping, etc. If you sleep alone on a regular basis I would have one - if you share a bed I would mention to your partner that you are worried about sleep apnea and find out if you snore loudly, stop breathing in your sleep, etc.
I knew I snored horridly, but also felt rested when I woke up... therefore I truly thought the sleep test was just another hoop I had to jump through, boy was I WRONG... I snored as an infant apparently, my snoring did not start with weight gain - but it ended after surgery! :)
