FRIDAY'S GRATEFULS
TGIF!! That pretty much sums it up, yes? What's everyone have on tap for the weekend? My niece has a softball game tomorrow, so I'll be there, keeping score. Beyond some errands and hopefully seeing Sean once he's back from the midwest, I'm praying for a quiet weekend.
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. The look of a well-manicured lawn. You'll notice I DIDN'T say the smell of grass, because my allergies are so not liking that this year. But I love the way a yard looks after it's been cut.
2. My brother's new kitty, Rainbow, came through her "no kittens" procedure just fine. She is SUCH a sweetheart!
3. For the folks at the Porter Dialysis Center - Dad had some issues yesterday and they addressed them in a hurry. They are AWESOME, really care about their patients and the families, and don't hesitate to let you know you can and should call any time you have concerns.
Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Tia

Even though yesterday was my Monday (I was playing hookie the first three days of the week in San Antonio) Friday couldn't get here soon enough. Family eye doctor appointments on Saturday and hopefully golf or the orioles on Sunday. Monday will come too soon, no doubt.
Here's what I am grateful for these days.
1. My wife. I could lead off every grateful post with this. Over the weekend we had our anniversary of our first date - six years. She is such a support to me and my best friend. She has helped me understand this term "unconditional love" - something that was merely a nice concept
2. My RNY - as noted above, I spent a couple of days on a mini vacation in San Antonio. San Antonio is a beautiful, very walkable city. My wife was in a conference during the weekdays. I spent Monday playing golf in the morning and then walked around the city in the afternoon. I put in over 17,000 steps that day. And you know what? I was in great shape that night to go to a business dinner and then go out afterwards to visit with my brother. Pre - RNY I am crippled after golf, never get to do the afternoon walking (probably in bed eating cr#p instead) and barely make it through the night time activities - it's amazing.
3. I have to steal one from the other day - job security. I don't love my job - there are days where it makes me insance. But I am grateful that I have little (didn't say none) concerns about my future here. And given everything else going on in the world, that's something that makes it easier to sleep at night.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Okies...it's Friday and my boss is gone! Whoo hoooo!!!! Oh wait, I'm still here. Booo hoooo!
I'm so glad your dad's docs are taking such good care of him. Now maybe YOU can relax a smidgen. Yeah, I know I know....
So here's what I'm greatful for:
1. The fact that I'm not terrified at all about the fact that I am taking part in a 6.5 mile walk tomorrow - last year I wouldn't have even thought about it. Now, dragging Bob around is going to be a different story - maybe if he melts into a puddle, I'll leave him on the side of the road with a paper towel over him.
2. My Mother-in-law - she called the other night to check on ME! She wanted to see how I've been doing since surgery and to tell me she can't wait to see me next month.
3. 26 days to vacation. That's all I need to say about that.
4. Tomorrow, my beautiful gorgeous neice Joanna is turning 24 years old. OMG when did that happen. She's the spitting image of my sister and the most beautiful child I've ever laid eyes on. I'm so proud of that girl (and my other nieces and nephews are equally as gorgeous and amazing - it's just not their birthday yet!). My handsome grandson will be 11 on Sunday too! Wow where does the time go!
5. My sister is at least speaking to me now. Sigh.
TGIF!!!
