Great job Nicole C'mon girl you can do it I know you can you are a very strong willed woman from what I can see and you have the confidence in yourself to do what is going to make you healthy. Yeah it does get boring sometimes and you pay for the mistakes and believe me I made some with my band and learned real quick what can happen if you don't listen to it LOL. I am going to be very strict this time with the sleeve because I want to be skinny or at least built like I was when I was a cooler in a nightclub 10 years ago.

LOL you will get there too. i definitely tested my rny to its fullest. it is great to know that it is still there, keeping me from doing too much damage. weight loss is slow but it is moving in the right direction. that is all i can ask for. good luck w/ your sleeve!

This has been the hardest of all changes for me!  I've drank along with my meal since I was a kid (and that wasn't just yesterday!)

But I'm following the rule, although I'm not a clock watcher so I have to kinda guess and see how 'digested' I'm feeling and guesstimate the time!??

My surgeon said drinking 20 within minutes before slicks the stomach and it's too easy for food to go through without breaking down much first.  Same for during, plus you're also flushing it through. He restricts us to 40 mintues after the meal to give the protein plenty of time to break down and digest fully.

I'm a VSG'er though, maybe it's more important for us as it's not a filling us up issue but an absorbtion issue?

I dunno... I miss it though! And I find it harder afterwards now... I get so thirsty but know it's not time yet.

what your surgeon said about drinking before makes sense. i wondered about that. i normally drink up to when i eat. i guess i'll stop doing that too LOLOL. it definitely is hard to do but i notice if i eat slowly and chew correctly, the desire to drink is less. it's when i'm trying to shove something too fast down my throat when i really need to drink. so it is teaching me other lessons as well.
