Now the waiting begins for a DATE

I had my first appointment with Dr. Cantor today.  He went over all the pro/cons of surgery.  He sat down and went through the check off list and stated I had completed everything so he send my records for the schedule person to set up my dates.  I was told that she will make a appointment with my PCP, and book my date with HCH.  In addition, he order a series of lab test to be done and put in my medication order with the pharmacy.   So now I will wait.  Maybe I will start doing all the cleaning I want be able to do after surgery.  Now I am hoping I will have time to put everything in order at work.  I just can not believe this is really going to happen.  This has been a really long journey that I started many years ago, however I could not get the insurance approve it..  Any body else waithing on a date from Dr. Cantor?

Squeee!!!  I'm so excited for you!  I know the waiting is tough, but you've already taken the first and most important step by deciding to have wls.

Sometimes, the dates happen quicker than you anticipate, so do what you can now!!  Plus, there'll be some things that you'll need to get together for your first couple of weeks post-op.  I'll send you a list tomorrow!

Hang in there!

Hugs,

Tia

In a couple of weeks I hope to be in the same situation.  The closer I get to the end the more I want to eat.  So I am trying to tame the beast and read through the literature I have collected over the past 6 months of nut visits.  We shall see.......

OMG, I thought I was the only one.  In last week  I feel like I could eat a horse if you put it in front of me.  I know I have to get my self back on track.  Good luck to you.  Are you a Kaiser patient?

See, Linda...  I told ya the appt would be a breeze!  Now the wait for the the scheduler to call.  I don't know it'll be as long as a wait as I had... maybe not!  Remember they had me on the wrong surgery waiting list!

And that's a great idea, getting things in order for when you're recovering.  You will be up and about but who wants to clean when you're not feeling your best?  Hell.... I don't want to clean even when I feel my best!

I'm here for you, as you were for me!

I am buckled up and ready to start.   Howeve, r I must  admit after hearing everthing that could go wrong  I do feel scared, but not enough to change my mind.  I even had a thought to  try one more time to lose the weight on your own.  Then I thought to myself who am I fooling, if I could of  I would have done it  years ago.  Thanks for your kind words.

Congrats Linda!
I remember being where you are in the process of WLS.  It was a very exciting and nerve racking time. The fear of the unknown is always worse than the reality! I will keep my fingers crossed that your date comes quickly. Wishing you luck, and a very successful journey!    Leslie:)
