My doc has us take Flintstones Complete chewable, b12 under the tongue (or drops) magnesium, Calcium chewables and iron. Every doc is different though so I would check with yours to see what they recommend. They should be happy to give you that info. Good luck!

Congratulations on your date!  I would check with your surgeon/nut to see what vitamins they recommend.  I can think of daily chewable multi vits, sublingual B12, chewable calcium CITRATE to get you started.

you wantan adult complete multi like Centrum.   after surgery you need to take DOUBLE the dose so 1 in the am and one in the PM

there are some great vitamin threads on the RNY board.  or you can check out Andrea U's website or PM her.  she has been a godsend with help in regard to vitamins

For RNY patients, the Bayview program tells you to take 2 multivitamins (Centrum Chewable is what I use), 500 mcg B-12, and 65mg iron (if you are still menstruating), 1500mg calcium citrate every day.  Vitamins will be added or subtracted after surgery based on your labs.  In addition to those I take B-complex, magnesium, Vit A, and biotin.

When you had your inital consultation they should have given you a huge binder that included this information plus a list of brands/dosages of each vitamin and where you can purchase them (along with some costs).

Hope that helps.  If you didn't get that information, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will scan and e-mail that info to you.

My doctor Dr Singh, says
2 multi vitimins, I use Bariatric Advantage Berry Flavored
1 B-12 sublingul (but I think I am changing this to once a month shot)
1 iron pill, I use Bariatric Advantage Passion Fruit Flavor
1200mg Calcium Chewables or liqid. I use Calcet chewable Choc and Lemon. 3 a day
1 Previcid
5000mg Biotin

I think that is all. But all doctors are different so you should also check with your doctor.
