Help???need advice

hey all, im new to this and am just starting my lap band journey!!! a little different then most i already know my insurance will cover it, and know my doctor a yr ago said i was a perfect patient to get the surgery, just havent made any steps till now! with all my research done and my mind made up on the matter! now well im stuck, i could use everyones help!

especially people in the western MD area or moco???

i would like everyones advice on what doctor to see because i have yet to find a doctor i would want to do my surgery!
also how long or how fast have you all had this all taken care of and been into surgery??? i see some that say 6 months special diet yadda yadda! and well ive been on a special diet with my weight loss clinic for a yr now and with little to no change :o( and i have some major problems with health that finally pushed me over to finally come to terms and agree this is what i need in my life! so any and all advice is much needed!

can I ask what made you choose LapBand?

I can't offer any suggestions for docs in Western MD as I am in Northern MD and my doc is in Towson.  Just wanted to welcome you to the board and let you know I'm available if you have any lap band questions.

i havent yet ruled out any doctors im just a little iffy about the ones closest to me in hagerstown they always seem rude when im in the weighloss clinic and they have conjoining offices!

righ tnow im in that need to find the right doctor path??? when my husband was in the air force i finally LOVED! my doctor who said he would be there to deliever my daughter and if i had to get a c section he would do it....well when the time came i had a c section and 2 doctors i didnt know and i didnt feel good about do my surgery, little do you know they messed up, they left my incision open after 2 days which sucked and all along it was just depressing how i was treated at a military hospital, so this surgery i want to click with a doc and just know everything is good!

as for what  made me decide the lap band i dunno i weighted out all the pro's and con's of all the wls's and i just think the band is the best for me, less recovery time?  i just feel this is the route i wanna go and im finally willing after a year of thinking research and pushing myself!

My advice as far as picking a surgeon is to go to an information session for each one that will be covered by your insurance.  That is what a lot of people do and are able to rule out those docs that don't make them feel comfortable.

im actually going to 2 this next week and one online in 2 days, as well as i have an appointment on the 5th with a surgeon in PA that some people have said is awesome, all i know is his work staff on the phone were so awesome i loved them right then! so im keeping my fingers crossed YAY!!!

i cannot wait to be apart of the weighloss journey and reach my goals
