Off to a friends wedding in Gettysburg today...first time I'll see several friends since surgery!

On one hand I can't wait to see everyone... on the other I wish I could have lost a wee bit more before the wedding.  But... what bothers me most is the last time they saw me I was using a cane, now I have to use a walker my hip is so bad.  It will be embarrassing, but I can't do anything about it.

We're staying overnight and I hope the reception dinner has something I can eat that's healthy! I can bring protein shake I suppose just in case.

However, today is not about me, it's about Love!  James and Brie's love... family and friends love.  And that makes me happy!

Hi Mitzi!

Just relax and try to have a good time.  You've done a great job - I'm sure people will be AMAZED!!!!  Bask in the compliments you're sure to receive.

As far as the food - by all means, take some bars or shakes with you.  I generally don't go anywhere without one or the other.  Hopefully, though, there'll be something that works for you.

Enjoy the love-filled day!

You well have a great time,  once you among family and friends you will forget about the walker.  Just be thankful that you are able to walk and the walker is a tool to your full recovery.  Have a ball.

Mitzi  66lbs is not something that will go unnoticed! I also think that if people don't notice, they were never really looking @ you before! Also we are losing the weight for ourselves, no one else! I know you will have a great day with friends and family, and you are correct the day is all about LOVE!      ENJOY YOURSELF!  Leslie:)

Thanks, everyone!  I'm so glad I was able to share James and Brie's wedding day with them!  It was misty rain and a bit windy for an outdoor wedding at the historic Gettysburg Battefield Bed & Breakfast but it was lovely nonetheless!  The reception was in an old tobacco barn on the property from 1829... a very drafty barn. But there was so much love and it was great to be with James and Brie and several friends we hadn't seen since last October!  I've posted a pic of the beautiful bride, Brie and I below.

Leslie - thanks for your words of encouragement!  And you're right of course about losing weight for ourselves!  I meant that it would be nice to have lost more not only to look better at the wedding, but also so that I'd be more comfortable and in less pain walking around at an outdoor wedding.  I ended up too vain to use the walker after all, used my very vine wrapped twisted natural wooden cane.  But and I'm paying for it dearly today!!

Oh, I haven't lost 66 lbs since surgery, I've lost 66 lbs since beginning of my WLS journey a year ago.  I've lost 32 lbs since surgery. (I need to make my signature more clear on that...

Oh... I forgot to mention I ate 2 mini quiche and some cheese as appetizer (but I really wanted the meatballs but can't have red meat yet... Urgh!)  For dinner I chose the chicken filled with broccoli and cheese (I didn't eat much though, it was cold and dry chicken - being in an historic barn, the caterer couldn't use sterno to keep foods warm.).

Before bed, I drank a protein shake to get my protein in, but I didn't drink enough water during the day though.

See? You were able to find somethign to eat. I had my surgery a few weeks before Thanksgiving and I thought I'd die at my friend's house. I tasted everything and that's all I did. I didn't even feel bad seeing everyone else's plates piled high. Then, a month later, I cooked  a humungous Christmas dinner for the husband and I. LOL He ate a couple platefuls, I had my tastes and we had leftovers FOREVER.

I am glad you had fun and your photo looks beautiful!
