Hotels near St. Agnes

Just got my date to have VSG surgery on 5/11th. I live 2 hours away from St. Agnes and since it is an overnight stay, and I don't think they will let my husband stay with me, are there any hotels nearby where he can spend the night. I'm hoping for the best and that I will be discharged around noon the next day so we be home before my son gets home from school.

Check with the hospital before you book a room.  I had mine at GBMC, and although they were double rooms, they only put one patient per room, so my husband was able to stay with me the whole time.

I had surgery at St. Agnes and my mom stayed with me one night, my husband the next... They are used to overnight guests - if there is an extra bed in the room they will let you use it - otherwise the recliner is not too bad...

I stayed with my  husband overnight in the hospital when he had his surgery.   NOT a problem at SA if he's not got a roommate.

I also stayed overnight at St. Agnes with my son when he had his RNY.  I made myself a bed using the recliner.  They were kind enough to give me a pillow and blanket.  As for being discharged, don't expect to actually leave the hospital at noon.  It took them hours to actually discharge me.  The nurses are the ones who discharge you, and they are so busy (or at least they act like they are) that it takes forever to leave.  Plan on at least 2 hours after they begin the discharge paperwork.

there really are no decent hotels that are rather close to St. Agnes because it is located in more of an industrial area and quite honestly I could not make a recommendation for those that are because the area is not that great.  I live about fifteen minutes away so I have personal knowledge on this or I would not say this but it sounds like you are good to go for him staying with you at the hospital.
Rockin Robin!! It is 2010 and I love myself enough to make me a priority.

QUALITY INN HARBOR SOUTH is at 1401 Bloomfield Ave., just down Caton Ave, from the hospital, less than 1 mile.  I had the same situation, as I was coming from Ocean City.  Their phone # is 410-646-1700.  It was clean and comfortable. We stayed there the night before surgery so I'd not have to get up so early and drive. Then I had to stay a night in the hospital, so Richard wasn't uncomfortable. Good luck with everything!
