Healthy Reflections

Taking care of what matters most

Your body is one of the most fragile things you need to care for. All too often we allow sickness, stress, and even other people run our lives. It's tough to consistently pursue your goals when you're laid up or constantly fighting illness. Take a preventive approach to your health. By eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, getting plenty of sleep, and dealing with your emotions, you can build and maintain a healthy body that can help you improve other areas of your life!

Have a great day all.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

AMEN.  For me it just seems ashame that I had to become M.O., be on the verge of a metabolic meltdown (or in the middle of one depending on your point of view) and have to have major surgery inorder to fully appreciate the wisdom of this.  Ah well, better late than never.

Russell,

I am right there with you.  Thank goodness that we did it with time to turn our lives around to enjoy the beginning of the rest of our lives.

Cira.....
   Thank you Ol' Wise One......LOL
You really summed  that one up perfectly. I know I am guilty of allowing stress to interfere with my healthy lifestyle at times. It may take me a few days, but I always figure out what I am doing wrong and quickly regain the control.
And as was already said, its sad that we had to go to the extreme of surgery to regain our lives, but as was said, better late than never!

OT.....hows everything going with your family? We havent talked lately.......I have had soooo much going on! I hope all is well & we will talk soon?!?!?!?!

LOL old wise one? Ha! I wish but, I've just been reading a whole lot.  lol

Yes ma'am it is better late than never and at least now we know to take charge and STAY in charge of our lives & health.

We are all doing great Thanks for asking. I have had a lot going on too.  Studies are keeping me busy and I like it that way so I don't stress over other stuff too much. ;)

Yes we'll catch up soon.  I miss talking with you.

Hugs & love,

Cira

Cira,

You are so right.  I remember that pre-op I was the most tired, out of shape, and constantly feeling like garbage.  How was I supposed to be a mother, wife and nurse and take care of everyone when I could barely take care of myself?

Post-op, I am still a mother, wife and nurse but, I am so much healthier, feel so much better (still tired but, that's life I think) but also in much better shape.  I would never have never thought 4 years ago I would be coaching a boys soccer team.

It has been such a long time since I have been on the board and I am finding I miss it and need it to stay on track and find people who understand the same struggles.  So, I'm back!
