Good Morning Maryland...

hope all are well on the bright spring day.

My 6 month blood work came back just about perfect....   see what proper food and supplementation can do for you.

i took off today again because I see DVR today for my 6 month check up....   I don't think I've lost enough weight but we will see what he says...

I've already hit the gym  20 minutes of cardio  an hour of yoga and then another 30 minutes of cardio.  I could so enjoy being a lady of leisure...

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at Nicole's B-day party tomorrow.

have  a spectacular day everyone.

wonderful to hear about your labs. that is very important! more important than over weight loss speed. unfortunately alot of people lose weight very quickly but have lots of health problems as well. you are working it and doing wonderfully. don't worry the rest will come off with being consistent. now if only i can find that, is it hiding under the bed maybe? LOL. see you tomorrow!

I agree with Nic!
Consistency is the key... this has to be a life change, not a quick fix - and working toward you goal makes you (and me!) want it more!!

See ya tomorrow!!!

Hey ALL

Nessa congrats on your great labs.  I got my three months back yesterday.  Albumin was normal but prealbumin was low.  They couldn't explain this and said I should get more protein, I already get 75-80 grams in but hey I'll give it a go.

Just got back from my lunchtime walk, nothing better than being able to do it outside now rather than walking the monotonous circuit around the bottom of the building.  40 minutes on the treadmill tonight - I've been a slacker the last two days.

Love the quote - will have to keep it in mind.  I've never been accused of having a poker face - sometimes that's a good thing sometimes not so much.  Or as Monk used to say "it's a blessing and a curse."

Hope everyone's enjoying their hump day!

Russel,

are you getting all your protein from food or do you do some shakes too?

I get 2 shakes a day usually and my protein while in the OK range was a bit low and I try to get 100 g a day....

Nessa

In the last 2-3 weeks it's all been from food.  I may have to add a shake to boost the numbers - whatever it takes is my approach.

FWIW,   When speaking to long term  RNYers (over 3 years out)  they are ALL taking protein with shakes daily...  at least the successful ones are.

Nessa - seems to me it's worth a fair amount - I will give it a shot and see how the 6 month numbers come out.

Great lab work Nessa!  I follow the program with a very strict regime, work out at the gym, walk and I'm a slow loser too.  106 pounds since May 20, 09.  Frustrating when you see others just speeding around the track.  Even though I take my iron supplement daily, I just finished up my third infusion (3 more left).  Hoping my iron will get back to normal. Keep us posted on your doc visit.
