Pre-Op Liquid diet

Hello all,
I really hope I can get some help on here because this is driving me nuts.
I started my pre-op diet yesterday - the liquids - just to get myself prepared for what lies ahead.
I am having a real problem because I really want something salty..........I am usually a sweet craving person, but on the liquid diet, it seems like all I can have.
Now, I have been eating soup for either lunch or dinner, but I guess I am looking for something besides soup that I can have that will kill my salt craving.
Last night the craving was so bad that I had a cube of ham that I chewed very very thoroughly, I might add!!!   LOL
Any suggestions?????????????
Thanks for any input ahead of time.

Some chicken broths are rather salty.   But you may want to watch your salt intake, it retains fluids so it's counter productive.

But try not to eat any more solids (even chewing to a pulp is not liquid, LOL)  Remember, liquid only is temporary - you'll get through this and be grateful you did!

My surgeon is extremly strict... I'm almost 6 weeks out and still on only eggs, soft cheese, tofu and fish (no shrimp ) for another week!  But... I'm craving something with more substance and I really miss crunching!  However.... I'm following orders as I didn't go through this surgery to cheat myself again.  I can't exercise as others do, I have severe osteo-arthritis and can barely walk with a cane (walker is better but I'm only 52 and I hate the walker!) I'm losing slower than most here, but I'm losing and that's the goal, right?

Stay strong... stay on task and you'll do great!

Thank you Mitzi for the support, right now I really need it!!
I did a little better last night, I just drank a glass of V8 juice.......I forgot about V8 juice and it killed the craving right away.
Today is another day and I have 3 more days until my surgery so I am very excited.   Sometimes the temptation is hard to resist, but I know I need to do this for my health and my children and that is what is keeping me motivated.
Great job on the weight loss, Congratulations!!!   Keep up the good work.
