Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to see if anyone else was going to be at St. Agnes on Wed/Thurs this week? I'll be having surgery at 7:45 am and I'm sure I'll be up and walking around in the early afternoon. Would love to pay visits to other people's rooms or meet in the Chick-Fil-A where I hear there's free wifi (my only reason for wanting to go there.)

I will be discharged before noon on Thursday so most likely won't be doing too much socializing that morning. But if you're there maybe we can say hello.

Best of luck to everyone who's a St. Patrick's day-er.

Look at you little miss energy! I will tell you I wasn't up and walking until 10pm, the anestesia and pain medicine had me pretty loopy and sleepy for awhile... but I didn't have lap-band so I am not sure how soon you will be up and moving about.
Good Luck! I'll be thinking of you! :-)

Well, I'm just going by what they've told me. They say I have to be walking around a few hours after my surgery. And I am quite energetic and also kind of ADD so I don't think I'll be able to sit still for long. But now that I know there's free wifi in the whole place, who cares? I'll just stay in my room :P

I doubt you will find other WLS patients who are up for socializing right after surgery ... especially in Chick-Fil-A.  The pain pump will be your new best friend.  LOL!  But I wish you good luck in your surgery next week.

Gosh girl, I wish my surgery was a week earlier.
Mine is the 25th and I was kind of wondering the same thing, if there were going to be anyone from the message board having theirs done at the same time.
I am just like you, I cant stay in bed, drives me nuts.   I was roaming the halls 2 hours after I had a C-section with my daughter.  The nurses kept telling me to get back in bed, but I was soooooo board that I got up and went down to the cafeteria and had some cottage cheese!!!  LOL
Funny thing, they NEVER missed me..........Good old Michigan Hospitals, gotta love em!!!  LMAO
Well, good luck and you will be in my prayers.
Please let us know how you are doing.

2010 is my year!!!!
It is time for ME to take control of my life instead letting my weight control it!!!!!!!!!
LOOK OUT SCALE......HERE I COME!!!   :0)

Hi there!  I just wanted to wish you ALL the best and to tell you that you have selected a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL surgeon!!  Dr. Averbach is fabulous.  He did my RNY in April 2008 and I'm happy to say that I lost all my weight and am happy and VERY healthy.  As a matter of fact, I'm in my last week of recovering from PS.  Whoop-whoop!

What's really super is how Dr. A and Cathy really do care about your long-term, on-going health care.   Best wishes to you, sweetie!!  Feel good that you're in very good hands. :-)

Good Luck!! And what a "lucky" day to have surgery!  Make sure you take something green to pin on your pj's!! :)

I was NOT up and moving around as plan - I like you had grand plans... I drug the laptop, magazines, books, my cell, and had grand plans on getting stuff done online - and then found out the pains meds and me are NOT friends...

I don't remember much of the first 30 hours in the hospital or the bariatic floor at all...  But you are in good hands and will hopefully walk and get moving early on!

Keep us posted on your recovery!!

I just realized, you are one year minus a day later than my surgery!
