New here, with a Psych question!?
Hi. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Cindy and I just schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Singh. I live in Montgomery County, but he has an office not that far. My question is, should I get the Psych evaluation before it? And if so, does anyone know of a Dr. in Montgomery County? Are these appointments out of pocket, or through insurance?

Hi Cindy, Sounds like you're excited about getting all this done! That's great. Wait till you see him, as he may have someone in his office that you can see, or refer you to someone. Usually it's not included or covered by your insurance. Stay focused and excited about all this, as it's the beginning of the rest of your life! Keep stopping by here, as it's a place where you'll get lots of support and care! I've met some really nice people here, and we all know what it's like!Ginger

I will now be the 3rd person to suggest that you see your Dr first. If you don't know anyone that can give you clearance on a psych evaluation ask your Dr who he would recommend. Payment depends on your insurance, everyone seems to have different coverage. I wish you luck,keep us posted on your journey, Leslie:)

Dr. Singh was my surgeon also. He has a psych affiliated with his practice, so I wouldn't worry about that. You do have to pay out of pocket for it, but she gives you a form that you can submit to insurance for an out of network claim.
