Welp,,, bad news for me

I went back to see the ortho Tuesday,, knee still pretty bad. Upon further review,, the DR that read the MRI missed something,,, it appears that I tore some cartilage behind the kneecap. Surgery is scheduled for 3-22. So much for my pledge for a year without surgery. It sucks getting old, I have had surgery everyyear since 2005. I need to trade my broken down body in for a newer model. Damn ice. Why me?

Awww, Tom that's a bummer for sure! It may not be as comforting to think of how much WORSE it could be, but imagine this surgery at your pre-op weight. Youre come so far and now youll get a new knee to go with it!

Well it was 11months ago I had surgery to repair the other knee, (torn Menisus (sp)) I went back to the same Ortho as I was very pleased with him and his staff. Tuesday not so happy, I changed at work and got to the office 45mins early because to go from Hunt Valley, to Reisterstown, back to Lutherville was just crazy. I had a 12:15 appt, a lady comes in at 12, says she is about an hr late, they tell her to have a seat, at about 1 she goes up to the desk and informs them she has to go walk a dog, so they take her right back, I didn't get to go bac****il 2:30, the Dr came in about 15mins later. So, I must ask,, why am I expected to be on time, when someone is an hr late,, why don't they tell her she has to wait or reschedule? I can understand if she was 5-10min late, but an hr?  I would have rather gone home changed, brushed my teeth ect, I probably would have been a little late,, so I decided not to. AND, had I known I wouldn't have gone bac****il 2:30, I could have saved half a vacation  day. I wasn't a happy camper.

Oh well,, my life saga continues.

That's BS! That would have ticked me off too. Doctors offices are still responsible to administer decent customer service as well. You could always mention it to the doctor...

Yea, my Ortho, (Dr Peroutka) caught it when HE saw the MRI, the orginal read by Advanced missed it. Plus now that a few weeks have passed,, the original pain from the fall has subsided some,, and the other pains from the torn cart. has become appearent.

Tom,
That really is a shame, but at least it is fixable, and you will have the knees of a 21 yr old when this is all said and done! Look forward to the pampering and the good news is,  at least when a wind comes and blows your hospital gown open from the back, they won't see as big of an ass as last time!       LOL   Good Luck,  Leslie

Tom,

I am sorry you will need surgery again.  I hope that everything goes smoothly and you recover quickly.
