Update on My Liver - Still in GBMC

Thanks everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers.  I really appreciate it.  I had a different MR scan yesterday and we are waiting for the results.  One of my tests came back with a really high total bilirubin count which is indicative of a blockage of the bilary tree/ducts.  It could even possibly be an old stone from pre-gall bladder removal 10 years ago.  If those results warrant, I will be having an endoscopy this morning down through to the small intestine.  I'll have a gastroenterologist coming in to talk to me about it and what will be done if they find a blockage.  I hope they figure this out soon.  I am exhausted.  They are taking blood 4 times a day and waking me up all hours of the night.  I had my first (and hope only) bad nurse last night.  Some guy who had so much bad cologne on I LITERALLY wanted to vomit everytime he came near me.  Imagine some guy smelling so bad and you have to call him for anit-nausea medicine.  Not fun.  My skin, scalp and eyes are a very springtime yellow.

I'm not sure if this means I don't have hepatitis or I do along with something else!

I'll try to keep everyone informed, and really appreciate all the nice thoughts and prayers.

WOW!  It's good to know that with all you are going through you still have your sense of humor. As for that male nurse, I think I had him also when I was there 3 years ago. I think his name was Mike or Mark.
Sorry that they are not letting you get any rest or sleep, and I know the food stinks also. Next time you go away from home I suggest a different place to stay! LOL  With the price they get per night you could be at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. I hope you get some  positive,  great  answers really soon, so they can fix what's broken, and you can go home A.S.A.P.  Thanks for the update, keep us posted, Leslie:)

UGH!  Hospitals are soooo not fun!  I think they should pass a moritorium on perfume, cologne, body sprays, etc in hospitals.  When I was in the hospital in January, if it wasn't the nurses or techs, it was the girl in the other bed.  When you aren't feeling well, that added ickiness does not help at all!

Continued thoughts and prayers that they figure it all out, get a treatment plan started, and get you home soonest!!

(((Terri)))  My husband works in infection control and is familiar with hepatitis.  He says based on what you said in your last post (about the doc telling you it was food borne) that it sounds like Hep A.  He said the good thing about Hep A is that it comes, it sucks, and then it goes away (unlike Hep B and C, which are chronic infections).  If you had a pos test yesterday, you probably do have hep, as the test is pretty reliable.  Whatever blockage you have going on is likely secondary to that.
