Hi every body:

I need some help getting back on the health avenue banned wagon.  Since I have been out of work for the past two months I have really slipped back into some very bad habits and help getting back on the right track.  I have returned to drinking soda, eating excessive amounts of sugar as well as mindless eating.  How can I get back on track.  Really need to.  Oh By the way, I have secured temproary employment with the census bureau.  Maybe that will help some.

Lori, I am so sorry that you have slipped. This I am sure has happened to all of us at some point and time. If you can get a grip go back to basics. Maybe a food diary would help and that way you can see what you are eating and drinking. I love soda but have tried to stay away from it. I do have a diet soda every now and then. I have tried to switch to Crystal Light. Maybe you can try some of the drink mixes too. Walmart brand is cheaper than CL and they have some good flavors. Someone said to me to join OA and that they found that helped them and I think they said it is on a donation basis. Maybe you could check that out. I am here for support and I hope you can get back on track and good luck with the job.

It's so hard to keep on track when we don't have a routine or schedule.

Congrats on the Census Job!

Are you an all or nothing kind of girl or do you want to work on one thing at a time?

I am all or nothing.. so i had to stop everything and then I had to make it a game... even now my food is a game... how do i get 100 or more grams of protein a day....   using sparkpeople to track my food and exercise really helps...

if you only can deal with one change at a time,  maybe cut BACK on sodas for a week, then cut back some more the next week...

then tackle the sugar.

it's so individual for everyone.. what works for me may not work for you.
