3 THINGS FOR THURSDAY
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. That it WASN'T Dad.
2. Trader Joe's - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this store. And I managed to avoid all the yummy bad things they have and bought lots of good things - hummus, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, cheese, etc. I really DO enjoy eating food that's good for me, but SOMETIMES things like their chocolate covered soy nuts just CALL me, yanno?
3. Today is the birthday of my high school bff, Lisa. She's such a sweetie and looks EXACTLY the same as when we graduated! SO not fair!! LOL! She's been there for me since we were 15, and I don't know what I'd do without her!
4. Today is also the birthday of someone who's since left us, but remains in my heart, my ex-husband's grandfather. Pop died in 2005 at GBMC, where, coincidentally, I happened to be for my first consult with DVR. I was going to see him, but I was tired and drained and it was late when I got done, so I thought, "I'll come see him tomorrow." When I got home, my ex-MIL called and said he had passed (apparently while I was at the hospital). I grieved a lot and still miss the man. He and Gagi were married for 58 years and surprisingly, he outlived her for 5 years. They were amazing people and loved me like I was their true granddaughter - to them, I WAS. I visited with him every week, taking him TONS of the things he liked to eat - he remained in great health for most of his years and was always naturally thin - I always wondered where he put the candy and sweets that he adored. So, Happy Birthday, Pop - I hope Heaven has a wonderful double chocolate cake for you!
Have a good day!

I have been MIA for awhile, but I had alot to get in order prior to my knee surgery, which went great! Today I go get the stitches out......thank goodness cuz they itch like crazy!
Today I am grateful for:
1} The Board of Directors I am involved with, SPEAK. If you have never heard of them, they are a GREAT organization that promotes suicide awareness and education, especially to children {they have a website, google them!}. They are promoting a bill that will make it mandatory for schools to put a suicide hotline number on school issued ID cards & also host a school wide program on suicide so as kids can know their resources. I lost my cousin Jason to suicide last Janaury so this is very near to my heart. If anyone would like to know more about the Bill, hit me up, and please let your local Delegates know they should support this Bill!
2} that my knee surgery went so well. This time last year, I couldnt even walk! Today, I am walking unassisted after only 6 days! I feel great! Watch out softball fields, here comes Hojo!
3} that my weight is moving. I thought I had finally hit a stall, but Friday, my scale read 168! My original goal was 175, but I decided I wanted to hit 165......only 3 more pounds & goal reached in 8 months!
I hope all is well with everyone, and have a great remainder of the week!
~hugs~

Morning Hojo! I'm so glad to hear your recovery is going well! BTW, I kept meaning to ask you about your Valentine's Day - how was the s/f red velvet cake? Hope it was everything you wanted!!! I actually found a recipe for one and am going to make it for my bday, since it falls during Lent and I've given up sweet carbs.
Your #1 is both heartwrenching and heartwarming. As you've proven, suicide touches an entire family. Hugs to you, sweets.
I hope the suture removal goes well!
Hugs,
T
The s/f red velvet cake was DELISH!!!!!!!!! I was surprised at how rich & sweet it still was! Joe loved it, and we have decided to use this bakery when we renew our vows & have a real reception......they are definitely worth the drive to St. Michaels! I will text you a pic of it later!
Removal of sutures went great!

Tia - Glad it wasn't Dad; I know your heart had to have stopped when you heard the sirens.
Today I am grateful for
1. a fun night bowling and I bowled well - I think I found the secret last night during the
third game; I started playing solitaire on my phone rather then sitting there agonizing
over bad frames ; I bowled better that game and we took 3 out of the 4 games
against the 2nd place team!
2. My appt with Ranesa tonight : I've had to cancel my last two because of illness and
family issues - and the one before that was canceled because of the snow.
3. My decision is finally made about my gyn issues- calling this am to get
Dr to set date for Hysterectomy - thanks to my friends who have offered opinions-
and put up with my moaning this past year - a very wise friend has threatened
to bug the **** out of me if I don't call today. LOL thanks Kathy
4. Water classes at the gym tonight - may get there a little late but I'll
make the " Warm Waves" aerobic one for sure - hoping the CD player
works tonight - its more fun when we can sing while we exercise.
"YMCA" " It's Raining Men" you get the idea.
So have a wonderful day everyone!
EDIT ADDING A # 5: My niece Colleen is half way into her pregnancy today!
First Great Nephew due in July
Yeah. It's pretty bad when I can recognize the sounds of the emergency equipment's trucks and brakes!!!! Sigh.
Ooooooh, I'm so impressed with your bowling prowess!!! Good job!!
PLEASE do NOT let anything deter you from your appointment with Ranesa!!! You need this. And give her a hug for me!!!
MUAH!

Today, I'm grateful...
1. That one of our SIX first aid kits had "non-aspirin" in them. My back is aching and it's running down the front of my legs today...that's a new one!
2. Frozen enchiladas from TJs. I got them last time I was there and forgot about them. Since I didn't cook dinner last night I didn't have any real options for lunch. Da da daaaaaa...frozen enchiladas w/cheese!
3. That I was finally able to get into my mortgage account and print off the tax form that they didn't send me. Next up...taxes!
Have a great day all!

Yep. I figure by 2 p.m., I'll be slumped over my desk, fast asleep.
Don't you miss the days of NSAIDS? I know when my shoulder hurts, I sure do!! I hate that you have to wait until March 15 for the next injections. Ugh.
I really restrained myself at TJ's - there was a ton of stuff I wanted to buy, but didn't. Love that place!!!!
LY,

YES! They are always two weeks out in their scheduling. I should have had them schedule a second set "just in case".
I'm right there with ya! They have some great but dangerous things. I may stop in there this afternoon as I need more greek yogurt!
