I am now 4 day pre-op and my nerves have set in!!! I am worried about not recovering fast enough to get back to work. I am worried I will do something wrong or I will forget to do something. I really wi**** would hurry and get here so I can put my nerves to rest.

LadyKnightofLife, try to remain positive and visualize yourself after surgery; recovering well - returned to work drinking your protein shakes!  Reading this board alone will help alleviate some of your nerves, I bet.

As for doing something wrong, follow your surgeons instructions. Protein first then liquids and remember: sip, sip, sip!  Do not bend or stretch much, do not pick up things heavy and remember to use the breathing apparatus (forget the name)! You'll do fine, I'm sure!

I've determined my sip is smaller than and ounce, so I have to sip more often to get my liquids in!  Now is a good time to really practice and know what you need to now.

Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!  Keep us updated!

Just keep positive. I am 4 months and I can't belive it's been 4 months already. I was amazed how quickly I recovered and started to feel better. This surgery was easier then having my gall bladder removed for me.  I stayed out 3 weeks, but at 2..5 weeks I was over-flowing with energy and ready to go back to work.  Keep positive, make sure you have everything your surgeon's office requires so you nice and prepared. Good luck!  In a few short days you'll be on the losers bench!

You are going to do great!  Just relax and you know you can talk to me anytime!  Make yourself a list before you go in, that way you won't forget anything.  And don't rush yourself back to work.  I know you are worried about your work piling up, but this is major surgery and you don't want to jeaopardize your recovery.

You are going to do great, and you know you have a big cheering section from me, my circle, and my girls!  Best of luck for a safe and successful surgery sweetie!

You will be fine, relax and remember how long you have waited for this miracle of WLS. You will be surprised how well you feel after surgery, just follow  YOUR  Dr's orders. The 1 thing I have learned lately is that 2 people with the same WLS, but different Dr's can have totally different rules and different surgical procedures. Good Luck and we will make sure you have a  clean seat on the Losers Bench! Keep us Posted, Leslie:)

You've worked so hard to get here and now it's here! It's the beginning of the rest of your life! Although that may make you feel pressured, I like the idea of visualizing yourself as you're losing weight! That is going to feel so good. The first really successful diet with noticeable results! I'm so excited for you. Hang in there...4 days to freedom!!!

Good luck and try to relax. There are  many great people here that are more than willing to help you with any problems you may have. I think most who have the weight loss surgery try very hard to follow the doctors orders and advice. I think this is because so many of us have failed at so many diets before and we don't want to fail at this. I am sure you will do fine and just have yourself prepared for the ride of a life time as I have heard so many say. Good luck try to rest, relax and get ready. Take care and keep us posted.
