Those NSV keep on rolling!
So, I'm nearly 4 months out (omg, yay!). At the end of January, I had my cholesterol checked for the first time since surgery - and I got my results today -
Total cholesterol is 105 - pre-surgery it was 149, which was still nothing to sneeze at but I was also on 20 mg of crestor a day - which I stopped taking after surgery.
My triglycerides were 99 - ninety-freaking-nine! I am so happy about this - especially since I had a heart attack in 2003 and they were up over 300.
My HDL was 42 - up from 30.
I LOVE my RNY!
I went from being on over 10 prescription meds to now just three - and I'm already phasing two of those out. No more blood pressure meds, no more heart meds, no more cholesterol meds, no more insulin...just my protonix, my metformin (which I've cut back to 500mg per day instead of 1,000 - for PCOS), and my metoprolol to regulate my heart rate (it will go away in June!!!).
Buh bye you evil prescriptions! Hello healthy!
