Approved for VSG
Thank you to all of you that have offered words of support for me while I have waited for insurance approval. Now I move onto the next part of my journey. I do not live in Maryland but my surgeon is in Baltimore. I can not tell you how reassuring it has been watching those of you with the same doctor as I go through this process. I am sure I will have a million questions now that the insurance approval has arrived. Thanks for being patient.

WOOT WOOT!!!! I am so glad you won your appeal, I'm so excited for you! Since we do have the same doctor, I'm going to make a suggestion, do with it as you will. lol. For your appointments, you will generally have a choice of seeing either Dr S himself or one of the nurse practicioners. I love NP Tara, if you don't specifically want/need to see the doctor, I would definitely use her.
GOOD LUCK on your journey. Let me know if you need anything!

Once Tracey has the approval in her hand she will be able to schedule surgery. It took me about a week after I received my verbal approval to receive it in writing and to get a date. i think I even scanned my approval and e-mailed it over but then it took a couple emails to Tracey (finally cc'ing Christina) to confirm they received it and to get my date. Yes, again, a process *sigh.* If he weren't such an excellent surgeon and the one I really wanted, his office staff would've driven me away.
He ususally schedules about 6-8 weeks out so I'd say by mid-April you will be sleeved!! WOOT!
