I can feel your pain - six months ago, I had three nephews get married within a six week period of time. I did not have a single fancy dress to where. I made up my mind that I was going to buy my self two dresses that I felt pretty in, no matter what it cost. As you know, that is not an easy task when you are a size 24W. Like yourself, I was in the pre-op mode and did not have a surgery date. Just buying the dresses was painful and I was sweating the whole time I was in the little dressing room, because the spanks I had on to help my body rolls, were tight and hot!
I am now in a loose 18 heading for a 16 and all of my size 24's,22's and 20's went bye bye! When I folded my beautiful size 24W dresses and added them to the rest of the clothes, it was hard to believe how different I felt about myself just 6 months later. You will get there girlfriend!

Oh Pam - thank you so much! Whew, I felt like you were describing my shopping experience! I was sweating and red faced! And bigger clothes cost more money, so yes I know it can be difficult. This is going to be practice for me in understanding that I am still going to be Laura inside whether I'm size 26 or size 6 (which is hard to imagine!). That way, when I do lose the weight, I will be able to hold onto the fact that it's still me. I have to just be myself and have fun regardless of the weight.
I've been packing today and as I've been neatly folding these nice (albeit, very big ) new clothes and putting them in my bag, I've been trying to think of how this top or those pants might be a really nice thing for someone who is struggling with weight, after I give them all away...in 2010!!! It's gonna happen. I'm so excited. Thank you so much for your encouragement!!!!
