Are fruit smoothies okay to have? I'm in my 10th week and want to know if I can introduce fruit smoothies to my diet? If so, any feelings about the smoothies at Smoothie King? I want a smoothie sooooooooooooo bad....

Hi Gina!

Why not make your own?  That way, YOU control the amount of sweetener and protein you can add.

Fruit in itself has natural sugars and some people DO dump from them, so just be aware.

too much sugar!!! you will get sick. if you want a couple sips no problem but not a whole serving. plus a regular ole piece of fruit is better for you anyway.

Only if you make it for yourself honey and use Splenda. The natural sugar in the fruit will be fine but most places add SUGAR and you will get really sick. (((Hugs)))

As everyone has warned,,, also some places warn their smoothies are NOT for diabetics because of the amount of sugar added.

Gina, I am going to be the voice on your other shoulder. I had smoothies from everywhere, Smoothie King, Jamba Juice etc. Cannot drink the whole thing 10 weeks out. I think I bought my first one 3 months out, the smalelst size and had maybe 1/4 over an hour. Didn't dump but then again, fruits haven't made me dump at all. you'll have to try a little bit and see how your body reacts to it. 2.5 years out now, I could drink a small one completely over an hour but then I make sure I ahve them add a protein boost to it so I am not skipping protein for one meal because I cannot eat anything else if I have that.

I really like a Smoothie mix that Costco has, it comes with mixed berries and frozen yogurt, all you add is milk. Afetr making that a couple times, I got a bag of frozen mixed berries, frozen yogurt and every now and then, I'll whip up my own.

You're the best Sylvie!!!!!! Just what I wanted to hear :) Boy do I love the other shoulder sometimes...... LOL. Well I think I'll try one of the healthier mixes at Smoothie King, as they have a weight loss side that has a list of reduce calorie, reduce sugar mixes. I'll let you guys know what happens. wish me luck.... :) ..I'll need it......
