Sleeved between the snowstorms
We were able to dig out from the first 30 inches of snow and drive the highways to get to the hospital on Monday and I had my VSG that afternoon. Late the next afternoon, I was released as the second snow storm began to hit and before it dropped another 20 inches on us. Considering the long and turbulent path I traveled the last 5+ years to get WLS, having it occur between blizzards seems very appropriate. My recovery has been going well for me, I am sooooo happy to be on the losers bench! Spending time sipping and walking around the house in awe of the beautiful wintery white and thinking of all the changes coming soon.
Kathryn,
CONGRATS YOU ARE A LOSER!!!
I can't believe that I had no idea that you had your date this week! You never even told me you stinker! I know you have to be so excited, you have waited such a long time for this, Finally! Good Luck with your journey, you certainly deserve some smooth sailing for a change! Keep in touch, let me know if you need anything, and enjoy the ride! xo, Leslie:)
Leslie, thanks for all the support and encouragement throughout my journey. Things got very crazy at the end - after waiting sooo long for the day, I returned from my two weeks in Cabo on Jan. 22ed only to learn that my new insurer had approved me right after Katrice submitted the papers and I had a date of Feb. 8th. Medical tests and labs that had to be redone, snowstorms, trapped inside caring for my 6 mos old grandson while his parents were stuck in St. Louis the day before my surgery, and on and on... It was nutso at the eleventh hour - but I made it!!! So far so good :) All went well and I am on my way :)
