So this may be a dumb question but how long after you get through the 6 month diet and interviews and labs, etc does it take to be approved by your insurance company? I have priority partners and I dont know if you get an auto denial first and have to re apply or what? Im just curious because I will be done with all my diet,lab, etc stuff on the 1st of July and am trying to figure out when I need to take vacation time at work..... any ideas?  thanks all

I also  had PP for my surgery. I did my 6 months supervised, all required labs, all required appointments, and so forth. My paperwork was submitted in the the middle of April of last year, and I had an approval in 4 business days!!!!!!!! I didnt have surgery until June 26th, but that was due to scheduling with the surgeon.
I dont know how other peoples approvals or denials have been with PP,but mine was fast.....and positive! All I can tell you is to make sure you have ALL required paperwork....all I's dotted and all T's crossed! And dont be afraid to call them to see if they have received your paperwork & check on the status......just be sure to document who you talked to & get their ID number or extension number! Always document when you talk to them.....CYA!!!!!!!!

I had Empire bc/bs - I finished my 6 month (all my appointments were done during that six months) on 10/22 - I was approved on 10/24 - surgery was 11/10/09.

I got my approval back in 2 days. and will be having surgery on 3/2/2010.

Hi!  I don't know how long you'll wait, as I'm not familiar with your insurance.  I do know I didn't have to wait long, after completing all my requirements.  It's nice to see someone else, from the Eastern shore, as I'm in Ocean City.  I drove all the way to St. Agnes, and am so glad I did!  I knew better to NOT go to a local Dr.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  However long you have to wait, it's well worth it!  You have the rest of your life ahead of you, and it's going to be GREAT!   Someone else, in your area, Lesley, hasn't had her surgery, yet either, so maybe you can both get in touch.  Good luck and keep us posted.

hey all i just have one appt then nill let you know how long it takes for the insurence to tell me ok. ive had one heck of a week and i finally get to move to a bigger an better house. ill be in dlemar now but still not to far away kalifreya. ill keep you posted on what happens in the upcoming week. thanks ginger for recommending me. i hope that things are going well for you in oc. i can only imagine waht it must be like there. drop me a note sometime. i will keep all posted about my date hopefully its next mth val said she has me on marches schedule so i would like to think it will only take a day or so for me to get an answer keep your head up it will go by fast.
