Obese at 16

This was probably a rerun,, but has anyone seen this show?
A 16yo kid had a RNY, started at 411lbs, 8 months later was 240 for his senior year. Insurance refused his surgery, so the doc and hospital did it for FREE, He agreed to do study for how  RNY  long term effects on a "child". The Young man did a fantastic job. Funny, at 240lbs I still was "too big" but from 411lbs it was his goal. I think they said the show was in 2004, and not sure of the air date,, but he was under his goal and holding.

Wow, this is a great story. I did not see this but it just goes to show that surgery does work if you follow your doctors orders and stay true to yourself.

Just did a search on TV, must not be on in the next two weeks,, but it was an inspiring show.

I too have seen that one Tom...  I can't imagine, I was over the 300 mark at 16, but still extremely active... I can't imagine being where he was at that age...  Yet I am weighing in at 260 now, and can't imagine how I function at over 400 - but we do what we have to do... thankfully he got his happy ending!

I was probably in the 220 -230 range my senior year,, hard to believe I am below that now.
