I don't post much, but normally check in on the board about once a week.  Thought I'd post my before and after, as my 1 year anniversary will be on 2/2.  Its been a great year.  I had a rough start (blockage after surgery) - but - would do it all again!  I'm down 130lbs!  We go to Disney every January, and this is the first time I can remember going without being in pain, due to back, knees, feet all taking a pounding from my weight!

Taken 1 month before surgery.

At almost 1 year out!

...and, since I'm posting today - thanks to everyone here for all you do post.  Although I'm not that much of a talker, I'm always so greatful when I can come to this board and find answers or just see that someone else has gone through the same thing!

Mel,
YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!
You have done a wonderful job, and have a lot to look forward to. Being @ a healthy weight with young children, and being able to participate in their activities is such a gift to the kids as well as you.
Keep up the great work, you should feel extremely proud of yourself, 130lbs is nothing to sneeze at! LOL
     Take care, Leslie:)

Thanks everyone!

I refer people to these boards all the time.  I read them daily pre-op, and seeing pictures others posted and hearing their stories helped me focus on the change I was going through - and helped me to NOT focus on the fears I had.

Being healthy for my kids is wonderful!  I'm so glad I can keep up with them now.

Wow, Mel, what an incredibly amazing difference! I can related to the no pain; could barely walk a few blocks before surgery, now I can do miles without the huffing and puffing and pain :)
