HELP (B12)

I go to see my surgeon monthly and get my B12 shots form him, which has worked out fine but my co-pay just went form $15 to $30 and no way in hell can I afford that.

So, who's done any of the sublingual B12 and had their bloodwork come back with the B12 levels fine?

I do the high potency sub-lingual B12 from Walmart (my surgeon was actually the one that recommended it) and my levels are always great!

Do you need a prescription for those?

April, do you know the brand name? I tried looking for them and couldn't find any sublingual B12; I saw a sublingual B-complex.

what about doing your own shots?


I use the 1000 mcg sublinguals from Walmart too...  but i'm not far enough out to see if my results are good...

The ones I do from Walmart are the High Potency 2500 mcg Sublinguals. I have never even seen a 1000 mcg dose! I know the recommended dosage if you do sublingal B12 for RNYers is I think at least 500 mcg a day so I always figured I was way exceeding the max, but with  my schedule and lack of sleep I need every ounce of energy I can get...lol

maybe they are 2500...  i make 3 weeks worth of pills up at a time and don't look at the bottles daily....

I do the Nascobal B-12 nasal spray, which is $9.00 co pay for 2 months supply. You do the spray in one nostril once a week.

I get an RX from my surgeon for 1 year supply I take to walmart and it is 30 something dollars including the needles. I give myself my own shot and I save a lot of money.
