Stretching pouch?
I always feel worried that I am stretching my pouch and eating too much. We had a luncheon today at work and I felt like I ate alot. I didnt eat near what other people ate but I still felt like I ate alot for me. I am always paranoid that I over ate and im stretching my pouch out and I wont lose anymore weight.
Did anyone worry about that in the beginning or even half way through your weight loss but still continue to lose weight and get to your goal? I feel like I am always worrying about it.
I think that's one of the reasons we are supposed to weigh and measure our food to prevent the fear of pouch stretching.
early out we do not have feelings in our pouches so we have to rely on measuring our food to eat properly.
I've head that the pouch is made from the least stretchy part of the stomach at first it's tiny but over the first year it grows to hold 8-10 oz.
at 2 months out I thought I could eat a lot
now at 4 months out I eat very little.... half a chicken patty or half a bowl of chili fills me.
I know it's hard to measure when you are out but that's why we measure when home so we can learn to eyeball a serving size when out in public.
I hope this helped.

Shannon, I am over 2 years out and some days I can eat half a pizza and other days 1 slice can make me pukey.
Unless you go days where you are eating 3 huge meals, snacking and still hungry, I wouldn't worry about something that happens once here or there :)
If you do find yourself eating too much over and over agian, start keeping a food diary. Maybe it's the types of foods, or not getting enough water in between meals. But writing everything down and looking over it at the end of the day can help you re-evaluate.

Thanks ladies. I try to weigh my food or measure it out but its so hard when you are out to dinner or at a luncheon or something. I guess I just get worried after I eat and I feel that really full feeling I used to feel before surgery. You know the over stuffed miserable feeling?? lol I always get worried when I get really full like OH NO I dont want to get back to the same big stomach that could hold massive amounts of food before getting satisfied.
