Thank goodness my surgeon doesn't put drains in anymore he told me most of the WLS surgeons don't do it anymore because he does leak testing before he seals you up and they said at a seminar with one of the well known Sleeve docs said it is a waste of time and causes the patients alot of pain for no reason. If they double check everything and do a leak test for 15 minutes he said it is not needed. Sorry ya'll had to go through that.

Thanks so much for asking Lisa!  If you don't mind I'll copy the experience as I had emailed some people:

Sooooo my story today: DRAIN IS OUT ! WOOT!!  She started out by taking the stitch out of course.... then had me take a deep breath in, and out, and again... on the way out the 2nd time she pulled that bad boy out. OMG it was the STRANGEST sensation I have EVER felt. It hurt, but was not excrutiating, it felt like an alien being pulled out of my body and because it was so odd I wanted to laugh. Have you ever been in pain but wanting to laugh before?  It took probably a full minute for me to pull myself together after that.  Bill had wanted to video it but I said no, in hindsight, I should've let him. He said he'd never get the visual of my face out of his mind. lol
