Pre-Op Questions

Hi All,

I am approaching my 2nd appt. in February with Dr. Von Rueden and I really want to schedule my surgery for March 26th. I am trying to obtain approval for the Sleeve. My question is when does his staff actually put the paperwork through(2nd, 3rd visit) and typically how long does it takes for the insurance to approve it? I'm also going on a cruise in July and hopefully if I get the surgery in March, I should be healed enough to enjoy myself. I've will be done with all of my pre-op testing this Friday. I'm so excited!

with us we required THREE visits and loss before they would even begin to submit the paperwork. so if your third appointment is in March then your insurance will be submitted after that appointment and it can take up to 30 days for the insurance to respond and THEN they will schedule your surgery.

Congrats on almost being done with your supervised visits. DVR's staff puts in the paperwork when you go in on your third visit. I first my 3rd visit in January 2007 was approved 3 days later and was scheduled exactly one month later. But then I got strep throat and my surgery was postponed for March.

I had Aetna and they workd quickly on my approval not all insurances return an approval that quick.
I love Dr. Von Rueden he is a sweetheart. You are in great hands.

That's great!!! Keep me posted when you get your approval. Tell DVR when you see him that Cira & Gino Saget loves him ;) (he did my husband's surgery too)
