How long does the *Pause* run?

I'm starting my 4th week post op. So far I'm down 35 pounds and very happy with the results. No problems with the surgery and recovery was a breeze.

HOWEVER,

This morning I noticed I didn't keep the 'usual' pace I've been on of about 1# a day for the last 7 days :-(

I understand from reading the post on the site that this is common to see a pause around week 3.

Does anyone know how long this "pause" can last???

Depends. I didn't hit a snag till 3 months in, lasted about a month, then kicked up again. Now, every few months, I'll hit a snag that could run from 1 week to 1 month.

Don't weight yourself everyday! You'll drive yourself crazy. Pick a day and time once a week and do it that way.

Also, keep track of measurements. There were many snags where I still lost inches but no pounds because of workouts. 2 years later and I still take measurements every few weeks.

I think it varies from person to person. I hit a stall around 4 weeks post-op and it lasted about 2 weeks. I hit another stall at 6 months that lasted nearly 1 month!

Hey Bryan good to see you.

congrats on the 35 pounds so far.

this might last a couple of weeks...  and sadly it will happen again after you have another big loss....  my hubby did not hit a stall till 5 months out... I had to hide the scale.    He just kept going and is losing again after a few weeks.

this isn't a race... ti's long term.  best advice:  put the scale away and keep on going.

Your probaly losing INCHES honey. I know I freaked at every stall I hit until I realized that I was actually losing inches at that time and becoming more "Narrow" lol Keep your chin up! Your doing GREAT!!!!

Bryan,

Congratulations on your awesome weight loss it's fantastic!
Not everyone goes through the same process.  Remember to never compare your progress to others.

When you do get a stall remember to raise your protein intake, change your exercise routine and go back to basics if need be.

Keep up the great work!

Hey Bryan,

I have the VSG too. I lost a bunch of weight in the first month too, and then it starts to taper off. Don't get discouraged though. Those pounds lost add up in the end. I'm exactly 1 month further out than you and down 54lbs all since surgery.

Good question, I am at a stall too right now and it is driving me crazy.  I weigh myself everyday and most likely will until I can notice a normal pattern in my weight loss.

I need to buy a measuring thing to see if I am droping inches since the pounds are not coming off lately
